Who We Are
Southern Paws Rescue, Inc. was founded in 2021 by Michelle Oakley. We are a 501(c)(3) foster-based animal rescue located in Asher, OK, serving surrounding rural communities. We help homeless, abandoned, and unwanted dogs and cats get the care they need and the second chance they deserve.
Animals Are Our Mission
Southern Paws Rescue serves Asher, Oklahoma and the rural areas surrounding our community, where animal resources are often limited. We take in abandoned, neglected, unwanted, and injured dogs and cats as space and foster availability allow, placing them in foster homes while preparing them for adoption.
Our animals receive the veterinary care they need, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, heartworm testing and treatment when needed, microchipping, preventatives, and other necessary medical care. We believe every animal deserves the chance to be healthy, safe, and loved before finding their forever home.
Our mission also reaches beyond the animals in our rescue. When funding allows, we occasionally help local residents with the cost of spaying or neutering their pets, helping prevent unwanted litters and reduce the number of animals needing rescue in our rural communities.
Help Our Cause
Your donation helps provide veterinary care, spay/neuter, vaccinations, heartworm treatment, preventatives, food, and other necessities for animals in our care. Every donation, big or small, helps us give another animal a second chance.
